Under the Information Presentation Facility, a portion of a help window or online document window which may be separately manipulated. The use of multiple viewports in a window enables the display or different types of information in the same window, with separate formatting and scrolling. Viewports may be either simple or complex, and may be IPF-controlled or application-controlled.
